MIXED MARTIAL ARTS (MMA)
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground, using techniques from various combat sports and martial arts.
MUAY THAI
Muay Thai or literally Thai boxing is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs" as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins.
STRIKING
The term striking in martial arts generally refers to stand up fighting, or everything that’s not grappling. It is an often used term in mma circles, as mixed martial arts fighters tend to combine and draw from several different stand up fighting disciplines.
KARATE
An oriental system of unarmed combat using the hands and feet to deliver and block blows, widely practised as a sport.
WRESTLING
The sport or activity of grappling with an opponent and trying to throw or hold them down on the ground, typically according to a code of rules.
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
BJJ is founded on the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent.
